Occurance
Even though the hunting for bushmeat occurs mostly in Africa, the problem has now become an international, multi-million dollar industry. It was not until the early twentieth century that subsistence hunting became a large threat to wildlife populations. As our human population has increased, there has been more demands made on the earth's resources. The greatest threats to African wildlife are habitat destruction and our increased ability to hunt and trap animals throughout Asia and the whole of tropical Africa. Exports to North America and Europe are a growing concern.
